Who We Are
Our team members are composed of overseas students studying in prestigious universities and have rich entrepreneurial and practical experience. Through studying abroad and integrating into the local communities, our members have overcome many barriers such as language difference, culture shock, difficulty in interpersonal communication, and thus have cultivated humanistic thinking ability and accumulated rich knowledge about overseas lives, studying, and social interaction. Personal experiences of our members lead to a more enthusiastic, capable, and powerful team, and we are more than willing to help international students gain better experience in a foreign country.
Founders

Grace Liu (Founder)
BMS 2023
I am Grace, a business student who does not want to end up as a conventional businesswoman. Anti-Emo was established with the aim of counteract our peers’ negativity. We all have a range of different items that we dislike, including stressful studies; however, it seems unlikely for us to change any of these, except from our own ways through which we approach our lives. I sincerely hope that Anti-Emo will assist you in dealing with negative emotions and bring you positivity as a close friend.
My life philosophy can be summarized as staying in your own time zone.

Rinna Zhang (Cofounder)
Head of the Public Relations Department;NYU Stern School of Business 2026
I am Rinna, an individual who is eager to make money while being zealous in charity, a person who prefers being alone while fond of attending events such as Live House, and a girl who is both sensitive and extroverted. I am an entity who is a bit contradictory, but I embrace this identity, as it always offers me new ideas and combinations; having a variable personal trait has also shaped me as a diversified individual. I always believe that if you are deeply in love with your life, life won’t betray you. It’s ok to suck sometimes, but you should remember you are bigger than what is making you anxious. Be positive, do what you are fond of, and the best is yet to come.
Gladys Wan (Cofounder)
University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign 2025
I am Gladys, with an MBTI personality of ENTJ. The label I offer myself is no label. I am an individual dedicated to breaking down stereotypes and empowering people around me. I am in the pursuit of becoming a female elite, but I am still fond of enjoying the best moments of my life.
A perfect analogy of what I envision Anti-Emo to be is “people who have been drenched in rain always want to hand over an umbrella to ones that need it”. I sincerely hope that Anti-Emo can not only bring comfort to everyone’s moods, but also help everyone to improve himself/herself.
